Production of Hydrogen used in the synthesis of ammonia

The Ammonia NH3 results from the direct synthesis of dihydrogène H2 and dinitrogen N2:
The dihydrogen H2 is produced by steam reforming of natural gas CH4 (methane) according to the following reactions:
CH4 + H2O → CO + 3H2
CO + H2O → CO2 + H2
The Ammonia NH3 is produced according to the following reaction:
N2 + 3H2 → 2NH3
Production of Ammonia from natural gas is the cheapest and the most commonly used. But in countries with poor natural gas stocks, Ammonia can be produced fromt derivatives of oil or coal.
